SHOULD MPs GET PERSONAL CREDITS FOR WHAT THEY DO FOR THEIR PEOPLE IN TERMS OF DEVELOPMENT?

– I firmly disagree with the politicians’ tendency in mentioning credits on developments as ‘They did this and that’. Claiming all the credits on a personal extent. For instance, one may say “I built this and that for my people in this district.” (Big fat lie) First of all: • You didn’t built this and that in your own pocket money to have claimed personal credit. • Despite the fact that u represent the people and negotiate whatever necessary for things to happen. It’s not you who has to take the full credit. (YOU’RE JUST A MESSANGER) • I think a more appropriate way of stating credits and courtesies would be to inclusively acknowledge the Government of the day, provincial or local government for their efforts under the MP’s leadership and not to singularly point out a MP. – MPs especially when being interviewed by or publishing a statement via media should know that They exist because there is a government and the government exist because there’s people. Simple. So basically, The people is the Government and the Government are the MPs. Thus, I think no MP should claim personal credits for what he/she has done for the people using the government funds unless and until it’s from their own pockets.
